Purchasing Cell phones off of ebay?

Has anyone had good luck with purchasing cell phones off of ebay? If so, what do I need to look out for?

We had ONE good purchase off of ebay. I suggest buying a phone that was MADE for your carrier (if you have Sprint, buy a Sprint phone) – avoid unlocked phones. This way, you gaurentee that it will work with your service. Look for listings that have an actual picture (not one that was copied from a site) that someone took. If they have the userID in the picture – even better. Watch shipping, people try to steal from buyers that way. I look for listings that explain why they are getting rid of it. If they say that they switched companies and now have this phone that they have no use for, then I would bid. Make sure to check their feedback rating as well. Also, see if they have a return policy. I sell and don’t always have one, but if I sell electronics, I ALWAYS offer a return for DOA. If they don’t, be suspicious. Good Luck!!
