I bought a Verizon phone on eBay, but I am not able to activate it online or by phone. What should I do?

I bought a Verizon phone on eBay (Motorola Q), but I am not able to activate it online or by phone for my Verizon Wireless account. What should I do? I tried contacting the former owner, but she has not replied for a few weeks.

The only way you are going to be able to activate that phone is if the person who sold it to you has disconnected their account with Verizon and has not reported the phone as lost or stolen…If the person you purchased the phone from still is in the system as having that phone active or owing money connected to that phone you will not be able to activate the phone…The only thing I can suggest is for you to take the phone into a local store and let one of the sales people look up the serial number in the phone and let you know what he status is since you cannot get in touch with the first owner.
